The recollections of the second show are particularly fascinating. Thanks a million for sharing it!Drequonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02605194919788183646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3307701595101058799.post-79446587532470203372015-02-16T13:05:58.295-08:002015-02-16T13:05:58.295-08:00They were a 4 piece band - vocals/bass/guitar/drum...They were a 4 piece band - vocals/bass/guitar/drums. I saw them twice around 1981/3. The first time was at Walsall Town Hall, support to local heroes Jameson Raid. The first 100 in were given a voucher and were able to collect the single as a freebie from a local record shop the following week (Mothership Records in Townend Bank, Walsall - long gone now). I still have the single.

They were a straight forward heavy rock/metal band of their time. If my recollection is correct something blew up during their set but they managed to finish their set. Don't know what happened to them. Singer was tall with shoulder length hair who spent his time head banging during solos. Guitarist was a short bloke who was almost hunched over his guitar. Can't remember anything about the drummer and bassist.

Other time I saw them was at a free rock festival on a stage outside the old Walsall Technical College building (where Tesco is now). Grim Reaper and an outfit calling themselves 3rd World War (a few members of Starfighters who had just broken up) were also on. Scarab were on very early and were getting no response at all. They singer shouted out "call yourselves rockers" to the small disinterested crowd. A mate of mine shouted back *call yourself a rock band!" at them. Don't think they ever gained a big following.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15414630771202792217noreply@blogger.com
